VESL group has openings!

If you are a motivated student with a passion for magnetic and piezoelectric devices that can enable versatile communications, haptics, and sensing, please send me an email with your CV and a description of your qualifications for one or more of the following projects.

Ph.D. Student Openings

Versatile Communications: There is an opening for a Ph.D. student to work on the design and development of high frequency, tunable magnetic components for wireless communications. This project involves the deposition and characterization of new magnetic and piezoelectric materials for magnetoelectric control as well as the design, simulation, fabrication, and characterization of unique high frequency devices using them.

Versatile Sensing: There is an opening for a Ph.D. student to work on the design and development of a portable nuclear magnetic resonance system for in-field crop quality detection. This work will combine the design and development of the sensor itself and the circuitry for the sensitive detection of very small signals in-field as well as the detailed analysis of NMR data combined with ground penetrating radar data to determine crop quality.

Postdoctoral Openings

Versatile Communications: There is an IMMEDIATE opening for a postdoctoral scholar to work on the design and development of high frequency, tunable magnetic components for wireless communications. This project involves the deposition and characterization of new magnetic and piezoelectric materials for magnetoelectric control as well as the design, simulation, fabrication, and characterization of unique high frequency devices using them.
