On a beautiful summer day in Ithaca, Htoo took the VESL group out on the water at Cayuga Lake for some sailing and good times. Sailing is a new skill he learned through Cornell! – August 23, 2025
The VESL group went for a crafting outing and made nightlights out of small gourds at Ithaca’s Gourdlandia shop. Afterwards, they enjoyed a home-cooked meal at Professor El-Ghazaly’s place. – November 23, 2024
The VESL group, with its summer REU students and a visiting scholar, went for a hike at Buttermilk Falls and worked up an appetite for pizza and (non-alcoholic) ginger beer later at Ithaca Beer Co. – July 13, 2024
Congratulations all around! Congratulations to Dr. Yulan Chen and Dr. Ludovico Cestarollo who are the first two Ph.D. students to graduate from the VESL group! Congratulations to Haosen, Htoo, and Smaran for passing their qualifying exams with flying colors!
After a lineup of excellent presentations by Htoo, Ludovico, and Yulan at Intermag 2024, the group went out to experience Rio de Janeiro!
